Woodlandwise Holiday Camps are droff off events offering quality time away from daily distractions while fostering holistic child development through activities that build confidence, creativity, and resilience. We hope to nurture a deep connection to nature, inspiring environmental stewardship and sustainable practices, while promoting physical fitness and reducing stress for all ages. Children will benefit from hands-on, curiosity-driven learning experiences that complement traditional education and can become part of a like-minded community, creating lasting friendships and memories.\
Join us for fun filled Forest School sessions in Balloch Country Park, Garelochhead (listing says meeting point) or Duchess Woods, Helensburgh. You can attend as a one off, or book a series of sessions and really see the skills progress. We would love to see some friendly faces- old friends and news ones- round the campfire in our favourite forest sites for some woodland crafts, bush craft, campfire cooking, den building, games and more. Nature connection and people connection at its very best! We welcome all children of primary age to these sessions. If you would like to attend, but are unsure about any aspect, please do get in touch- we are happy to make any accommodations possible to ensure that Woodlandwise Holiday Forest School sessions are as inclusive as possible and enjoyable for all.

I booked 2 days over easter break for my 6 year old grandson and he absolutely loved the experience. The Woodlandwise Forest School CIC team includes two experienced leaders who’ll guide the sessions. Each programme will run for 12 weeks with up to 12 women at a time, across different locations, so travel and transport won’t be a problem.

It was a great outdoor experience. Under a canopy, nice and dry. We had tea, homemade rhubarb and custard heated over a fire pit. Sat in nature immersing with the trees, plants and river to be in tune with ourselves. Loved every minute. We were strangers first and left as friends. Go try it!

Castle Wood Community Woodland is a beautiful, lesser known woodland in the Ardencaple end of Helensburgh. It can be easily accessed by entering next to Lomond Sports Hall. We will provide an exact pin drop nearer the time.

Our Garelochhead site is the ‘field’ between  the /Rosneath junction in Garelochhead, the Gibson Hall and the shore. There are some beautiful trees and a burn meandering through the land. It is a very beautiful and tranquil spot, well loved by local dog walkers and the is plenty of wildlife to spot.

Woodland Wellbeing for Women- Garelochhead

Woodland Wellbeing for Families is a gentle, nature-based series of seven monthly sessions, designed to support families to slow down, connect with the natural world, and build meaningful relationships with one another.

This programme represents a progression of our Woodlandwise wellbeing offer, made possible thanks to additional funding from Third Sector Interface and developed directly in response to participant feedback and growing demand for ongoing, family-centred support in nature.

Meeting once a month allows families to experience the woodland through the seasons, noticing changes in the landscape while reflecting on growth, resilience, and wellbeing in their own lives. Each session offers opportunities for shared exploration, play, creativity, reflection, and calm time outdoors, guided by experienced Woodlandwise facilitators.

Families are encouraged to attend the full series, as relationships naturally deepen over time. Over the months, the group forms a supportive woodland community where friendships grow, confidence builds, and families feel connected and supported by one another.

Sessions are relaxed, inclusive, and accessible, with activities adaptable for a range of ages and abilities. No previous experience is needed – just curiosity, suitable outdoor clothing, and a willingness to spend time together in nature.

We will typically enjoy a a shared snack, prepared on the fire, a hot drink, some woodland crafts, woodland play, enjoy some woodland mindfulness or forest bathing, and learn a littke about the woodland habitat and wildlife.
